It’s been a great November so far at Winchester Terrace! We welcomed fall last month by creating fun jack-o-lanterns and painting pumpkins. But now, as we dive deeper into the season, our residents must stay happy and healthy. So, we’ll keep the ball rolling with the fun!
That shouldn’t be too difficult a task, as we’re getting closer to a favorite holiday: Thanksgiving!
And boy, do we have a lot to be thankful for! This season’s blessings are overflowing, from delicious, nutritious meals to fun games with friends and caring and supportive staff.
We’re taking care of our residents this month through our chair exercises. We host this activity quite frequently, sometimes up to two times a week, to keep our residents moving! It’s a great way to exercise safely and effectively.
We also value our residents’ health by creating delicious and nutritious meals for them three times a day! Our dietary staff members professionally plan various meals at Winchester Terrace to give residents the power of independence and choice. The staff always includes healthy veggies like broccoli, salad, spinach, and some good fruits like pears and grapes! This variety ensures there will always be something hearty for everyone.
That doesn’t mean we don’t like to treat ourselves now and then! This November, we are continuing our weekly ice cream socials so that our guests have time to bond with one another and relax.
Another way we’re promoting creativity and relaxation is through our cooking lessons. Residents will learn how to make pies, soups, and pumpkin seeds to get festive for Thanksgiving! They enjoy this time to enhance their skills!
We can’t wait for upcoming December activities to come at Winchester Terrace, so check out our newsletter to find out what we’ll be up to, or see our page on social media for photos and more!
